Hire Conditions

By completing a booking and payment, the hirer confirms that they have read, understood and agree to these Hire Conditions.

Hirer requirements

The hirer must be 18 years of age or older.
Valid government-issued photo identification will be checked at delivery/collection. The e-bike will not be released if suitable ID is not provided, and the cancellation policy below will apply.
The booking is for the nominated hirer only. The e-bike must not be lent, transferred or sub-hired to another person without prior approval from BeeVelo.
The hirer must wear an approved bicycle helmet at all times while riding, as required by Western Australian law. Optional helmet hire is available for customers who don't have their own approved helmet.

Hires are counted in calendar days. The e-bike must be returned by 5:00 pm on the final day of the hire period unless an alternative return time has been agreed with BeeVelo.
The bike must be collected/delivered and returned at the agreed times.
Late returns without prior approval may incur an additional day's hire charge.

A $300 refundable security bond is payable with each booking.
The bond will normally be refunded through Stripe within 1–2 business days following the return and inspection of the bike, provided there are no outstanding charges, damage or loss.
Where permitted under these Hire Conditions, BeeVelo may deduct reasonable costs associated with damage, loss, theft, missing equipment or outstanding hire charges from the bond.
The hirer remains liable for reasonable costs that exceed the bond where applicable.

The hirer agrees to take reasonable care of the e-bike and use it responsibly and in accordance with its intended purpose.
The hirer must not modify or attempt to repair the e-bike without BeeVelo's approval, use an alternative or incompatible battery charger, use the e-bike for racing or inappropriate activities, carry passengers or loads beyond the manufacturer's recommendations, or use the e-bike in a manner that could reasonably cause damage.

The hirer is responsible for taking reasonable precautions to prevent theft or loss.
The e-bike must be secured with the supplied/approved lock whenever it is left unattended.
The hirer must immediately notify BeeVelo and the police if the e-bike is lost or stolen.
The hirer may be responsible for loss or replacement costs arising from theft or loss where this results from the hirer's failure to take reasonable care, subject to applicable law and BeeVelo's insurance arrangements.

The e-bike will be inspected before and after each hire.
Normal wear and tear arising from reasonable use will not be charged to the hirer.
The hirer may be responsible for reasonable repair or replacement costs resulting from accidental damage, misuse, negligence, vandalism or failure to comply with these Hire Conditions, subject to applicable law.

The hirer is responsible for all equipment supplied with the hire, including the charger, keys, lock and any optional accessories.
Lost or damaged equipment may incur reasonable replacement costs.

The hirer must use the supplied charger and follow the manufacturer's charging instructions.
The battery and charger must be kept dry and protected from damage.
The hirer must not attempt to open, modify or repair the battery or electrical components.

The hirer must notify BeeVelo as soon as reasonably practicable following any accident, damage, theft or other significant incident involving the e-bike.
Where another person or property is involved, the hirer should obtain relevant details and report the incident to the appropriate authorities where required.
In an emergency, the hirer should contact emergency services first.

The hire does not automatically provide the hirer with personal accident, personal property or third-party insurance unless specifically stated by BeeVelo.
The hirer remains responsible for complying with these Hire Conditions and for any liability arising from their use of the e-bike, to the extent permitted by law.

More than 48 hours before the hire period — full refund.
24–48 hours before the hire period — 50% refund.
Less than 24 hours before the hire period, or a no-show — no refund.
If BeeVelo cancels a booking due to a bike fault, safety issue or circumstances that prevent the hire from proceeding, the customer will receive a full refund.

BeeVelo may recommend postponing or rescheduling a hire where severe weather or other conditions make riding unsafe.
Where possible, BeeVelo will work with the customer to reschedule the booking subject to availability.

The e-bike must be returned in substantially the same condition in which it was supplied, allowing for reasonable wear and tear.
The bike, battery, charger, keys and other supplied equipment must all be returned at the end of the hire period.

The hirer is responsible for using the e-bike safely and in accordance with applicable Western Australian road rules and cycling requirements.
The hirer is also responsible for any personal belongings carried during the hire period.

The personal details you provide when booking (including identification details and your emergency contact) are used only to manage your hire and are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

BeeVelo reserves the right to refuse or terminate a hire where it reasonably believes the e-bike is being misused, the hirer is failing to comply with these conditions, or continuing the hire would create a safety or property risk.
Any rights or obligations under applicable Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation are not excluded or limited by these Hire Conditions.
